MONSTA X's Shownu to sit out Beijing fan event and KGMA after herniated disc diagnosis
STARSHIP Entertainment said on November 5 that MONSTA X's Shownu was diagnosed with a herniated disc and will miss the group's Beijing fan event and the 2026 Korea Grand Music Awards (KGMA).

MONSTA X's Shownu is stepping back from upcoming schedules for health reasons. STARSHIP Entertainment said on November 5 that he recently went to the hospital with back pain and was diagnosed with a herniated disc after a thorough examination.
Because of his condition, Shownu will miss the MONSTA X EP [The Phase] Fan Event in Beijing and KGMA - 2026 Korea Grand Music Awards. Hyungwon and some other members will still attend KGMA, but the agency said MONSTA X will not perform at the ceremony.
STARSHIP said Shownu's attendance at later schedules will depend on how he recovers, and that it will post a separate notice if anything changes. The agency apologized for the concern and said it will make sure he gets the rest he needs to focus on recovery.
