BLACKPINK member Jennie is adding her first animated-film soundtrack credit. Yonhap News Agency reported on November 6 that her agency, OA Entertainment, said she recorded 'Someone to Hold' for Netflix's upcoming animated film 'Steps,' calling it the first time she has taken part in an animation soundtrack.

The Asia Business Daily, also citing OA Entertainment, said the song drops at 2 p.m. on November 6. Korea JoongAng Daily independently reported the same Friday 2 p.m. timing. Both outlets place the Netflix film premiere on November 20. Asiae described 'Steps' as an action comedy retelling Cinderella from the perspective of stepsister Lilith; JoongAng uses the spelling Lilith for the same character.

Asiae credited songwriters Justin Tranter, Julia Michaels and Jason Gill. JoongAng, citing OA Entertainment, characterized the track as a powerful ballad about sisterhood inspired by vintage and organic dance-pop. Yonhap, Asiae, and JoongAng all reported that 'Someone to Hold' was already nominated in the Hollywood Music in Media Awards Song – Animated Film category before its official release.

Analysis

Interpretation by 2FC NEWSROOM, not reported fact.

2FC NEWSROOM: A same-day OA-backed drop timed hours before the 2 p.m. KST release, with the film two weeks later, is a clean, primary-sourced release story rather than a teaser cycle.

Conflicts of interest: Asiae spells the stepsister Lillith; JoongAng uses Lilith. Genre framing differs slightly across outlets (ballad vs vintage/organic dance-pop). Songwriter credit is from Asiae; co-write claims from other secondary outlets were not used.
